Newlands Reclamation Act 1902

Issue
There was no access to water and no
access to irrigation

Solution
President Theodore Roosevelt
urged for the buildings of dams and
waterways to import and access water,
and so from 1902- 1907 Reclamation
began 30 projects.

No access to water left nearly nine million

acres of dry land.

Dams such as the Hoover Dam and Grand

Coulee Dam were both apart of the
Reclamation projects.
