Xi Chapter of Mu State

Florida District V

Winter 2016

Dear Xi sisters,
On November 12, Xi Chapter initiated 3 new members. We
are fortunate to welcome Catheline Andre-Dixon, Neisha
Billy, and Nichele Williams who are very enthusiastic about
joining Delta Kappa Gamma and furthering Educational
Excellence. Thank you to Tracey Williams for recruiting
these outstanding women educators. Thank you also to
Diane Valovich for hosting and planning our initiates
Orientation on September 15. It is vital that we continue
to grow our chapter. Please be thinking of inviting
prospective members to our meetings and special events.
Now that all dues are in, we can report that we have 28
members, and we owe Louise Costello, treasurer, a BIG
thank you for her persistence.
The November 3 meeting at the Hawthorne Village
Clubhouse was very successful with 20 members including
guest, Barbara Belyeu, from Beta Alpha in attendance.
Thank you to Pat Houchens, Jane Spence, Sharon Quinn
and all who brought in canned goods, donated to World
Fellowship, and shared an assortment of hors doeuvres.
Our speaker, Julio Perez, from UF/IFASs Master Gardener
and Florida Master Naturalist programs was very
informative.
Thanks also to all who signed up for committees or who
serve in other capacities to make our chapter strong.

HOLIDAY PARTY December 3, 2016 - Galuppis

Xi Sisters
Our holiday social service project this year will once again be for Gods Little
Lambs. At our annual holiday luncheon, the first Saturday in December, please
bring an unwrapped item of childrens clothing. Because little ones have
accidents and spills, clean shirts and pants are often needed, as well as under
panties and socks. Both boys and girls items, sizes 2-6 are neededbut nothing
too fancy, as we certainly dont want to encourage accidents!
Carol Stevens, the director and her staff are most grateful for our project. Many
thanks!
***Small, new books that may be taken home by a child are also most
welcome!
