2.5percentonthepreviousyear.Thatisthe
highestnumberofscienceteacherssincethe

reachedrecordlevelsandthatfurthersignicant
risesareexpectednextyearduetotheworld
nancialcrisis.Manyofthoseapplicantsare
comingfromtheCity,itsays.

foralmost20yearsformajorbanks,including
MerrillLynchandLehmanBrothers,untilshe
found,afewmonthsago,thattheexcitementof
