1. Me com todo el plato.

I heard this statement while I was dining at a restaurant. This is incorrect because we
cannot consume plates. If he really did eat the plate, he would have been taken to the
hospital. However, the person was trying to say he ate all the food on the plate.
2. Friendliest drink on earth
I saw this phrase in an advertisement for Coca Cola. This is a false statement because
Coca Cola is not a friendly drink. In fact, many people start health problems like
obesity, diabetes, or cavities by consuming this product excessively.
3. Open happiness
I saw this phrase in an advertisement for Coca Cola. This is a false phrase for many
people. Coca Cola might bring happiness temporarily but it sure is not in the long run.
Coca cola can cause numerous of health problems.
4. Will be back in 40 min.
I saw this statement on the door of one my professors door. I went to his office hours to
speak with him but I was confused to when he would be back. I did not know at what
time he left, therefore, I did not know from what time to count the 40 minutes.
5. Compartida, la vida es ms.
I saw this phrase on an advertisement in Mexico for Movistar. This is a false
advertisement for a phone company because we do not gain more years of life by sharing
our lives with others through social media or conversations on the phone and text.
6. Disfruta del agua y evita los riesgos
I saw this statement on a google advertisement. Enjoying water will not avoid risks. In
fact, using too much water can create droughts. It can also directly affect companies and
force closure.
7. Why drive when you can fly?
I saw this statement at the mall advertising Air Jordans by Nike. This is false because
humans cannot fly. In fact, we do not need to wear Air Jordans to drive either.
8. Beyond natural Naturally Glamorous, never overdone
I saw this phrase on an advertisement from Revlon at Walmart. Wearing makeup defeats
the purpose of being natural, therefore, wearing the product will not make the buyer

more natural. Also, the product does not guarantee that the buyer will never over do
their makeup.
9. The worlds great variety shoe. Nike makes it, we have it.
I saw this phrase as an advertisement at the Nike store. This phrase is false and
misleading because it exaggerates by saying the worlds greatest. Nike does not create
variety of shoes, it is limited to styles.
10. Teaching is easy.
My brother told me this statement during a conversation. As a future teacher I took this
personal and as an insult. This is a false statement in many ways. First, becoming a
teacher is a long and difficult process. Second, teaching requires a lot of planning because
we have to take in consideration the different ways students learn.
11. Gasto dinero que no tengo.
I caught myself saying this phrase while I went shopping with my mother. This is false
because I cannot waste money that I do not have. It is not possible to purchase something
without having the money to buy the item.
12. Nature, reinvented the all new FT Compact Hybrid
I saw this Toyota advertisement while watching television. This is a false phrase because
nature could not create a vehicle. It takes people and machinery to create parts and
assemble a car together.
13. Cigarettes are like women. The best ones are thin and rich.
I saw this statement on an advertisement for Silva Thins outside a liquor store. This is a
false and offensive statement because the appearance of a woman does not determine the
person who they are. In addition, not everyone thinks the best cigarettes are thin.
14. Real food for your busy lifestyle.
I saw this statement as an advertisement for Dunkin Donuts. We consume real food, it
is not fake food. The fact that our lifestyle can or may not be busy does not change the
realness of the food we take it.
15. Great choice. Great Price. Dollar Menu.

I saw this statement advertising the McChicken sandwich at McDonalds. This is a false
statement because McDonalds is not a great choice. Consuming fast food is not healthy
due to all oils and products used to make the meals.
16. Enjoy 25-hour smooth and manageable hair
I saw this phrase on a Sun silk hair product at Walmart. This is an exaggerated
advertisement that causes doubt due to its wording. Why is it 25 hours and not 24? I have
not met someone who has smooth and managb eable hair more than 25-hour. Wind or
even laying down can cause knots on our hair.
17. l nunca lo hara, No lo abandones.
I saw this statement on an advertisement of an abandon dog. This is a false statement
because a dog is not conscious if its owner will abandon him/her. Most dogs if left
unleashed will run away and not come back.
18. Los nicos que saben Derecho son los ABOGADOS. Consltelos.
I saw this statement in an advertisement on Facebook. Lawyers are not the only ones who
know about rights and laws. Police officers, judges, along with other individuals know
the law. It is just a matter of doing research to find them out.
19. There is no parking.
This is a phrase that is often heard at the school parking lot. I have also caught myself
saying this phrase. This is false, because there is parking but maybe not where we think is
convenient.
20. All you need is love.
I heard this phrase in a song. This is incorrect because humans need more than love. We
need food, water, and other necessities to survive. If we only needed love, we would not
have people dying of hunger.

VIII. Format of work

All work must have a cover page with the title of the assignment, name of student, name
of professor spelled correctly, course and section and due date. Centered, of course. Title page
and subsequent work should have margins of 1, 1, 1, and 1 (left). _Dont paginate. Dont put
your name on each page. Indent five spaces when starting a paragraph. Skip two spaces after the
period and before the start of the next sentence. Use Times New Roman, font size 12. Double
space all work except the title page.
