In 2002:
Total removals within UNECE were close to record levels.
Roundwood removals increased substantially within the CIS and
Other Europe.
Almost 15 % of roundwood removals were used as fuel wood.
Exports of roundwood from Russia were 14% higher than the
previous year.
Raw material costs for pulpmills and sawmills fell in many
regions.
