Written Literacy Reflection

The Written Literacy topic has helped me evolve my critical thinking skills by thought provoking
assignments. Starting with my journal selection, I chose this journal entry because I felt that this
entry exemplified overall message of the written literacy topic. Assignments/journals were
assigned weekly therefore, pushing myself to manage my time wisely. Since I organized my
time, Ive focused heavily on grammatical structure, processing ideas and composition due to the
work provided such as the major project the This I Believe Essay. I had trouble associating my
personal thoughts with the topic but after I communicated with myself I was able to use
metaphorical language to really highlight my emphasis points. This essay did not get many major
revisions after I turned it in because I let my mind run free through my fingertips. I am not the
type of person to come up with an essay in a day or two, I have to gradually build a writers
cognition in order to perform the way I would like. This connected to my goals because I like
doing a good job on a task and I am striving to continuously have this motivation throughout my
academic career.
