Tank Shell Deflection and Rotation

This document provides three equations for calculating tank shell deflection and rotation according to API-650 standards. The first equation calculates the outward radial growth of the shell at the center of an opening connection from head or thermal expansion. The second equation calculates the unrestrained rotation of the shell at the center of a nozzle shell connection from product head. The third equation calculates the vertical expansion at the location of a nozzle opening due to vertical growth of the tank. Each equation includes variables for design specifications like tank geometry, material properties, and operating conditions.
