Q3) Nokia was the worlds largest mobile manufacturer but couldnt hold a space in the

smartphone market. Nokias smartphone had Symbian operating system which lacks many new
features and functions like iPhone, android etc. Although it uses new technology in its product
line but couldnt make a progress in smartphone market. On the other hand Microsoft had the
windows operating which can be run on smartphone but couldnt make a progress in smartphone
market share. So they make an alliance to use the best of their both strengths; Smartphone &
Operating system. They believed that this alliance can make their place in smartphone market
share.
Ultimately we have seen that they didnt not succeed. It was not a successful alliance as the
customers didnt convince. It couldnt create an impact in smartphone market share. We are now
seeing that the whole smartphone industry are dominating by iPhone and android operating
system because of their different functions and features.
