Objectives
My objective for getting this position is to gain experience in the fire world, to further my career in
fire management. I want to become a part of a successful team, that operates with honesty and has
high integrity to work towards the same goals.

Education
A.S Environmental Studies: Feather River College (May 2017)

In my Intro to Wild Life class, we set a drop net up and captured two black tail does and radio
collared the deers, took blood samples, put on ear tags to identify the deer and examined the
deer for any parasites such as ticks on the deer. We set the collar to fall off with in a month to
see the distribution pattern of the deer on our college and then we had to use an antenna and a
radio to find the collar that had fallen off.

Experience
Fuels Management (April 2016 Current)
Plumas National Forest Supervisors Office (155 Lawrence Street)

At the Plumas National Forest I had an internship that let me work in the fuels management
department. I was very fortunate with this job had a lot of duties and experience in this field. While I
was working here I had experience varying from admin work to fire investigations. In the admin
department I filed and created folders for the IQCS system to have records of around 500 fire
employees. I was also in charge of running the On- call Programs fire cache. In the cache I was in
charge of making sure everything was organized for when we got the crews ready to go, I made sure
all the tools were ready to go, ranging from falling axes, Pulaskis, to chainsaws. I made sure handles
were not cracked, and that the heads were not loose. On the chainsaws I made sure they all started,
had sharp chains, and everything was good to go on the saws. Along with being in charge of the cache
we had a fleet of 8 trucks that I made sure had all the items they needed to be efficient, from Windex
for washing windows, to shovels in case they got stuck.
During my time as an AD employee I got to go to the Pioneer Fire in Idaho with a Type 2 IA Crew
from Beckwourth, California. With this crew I was using a Pulaski. I have experience with this crew
prepping ridges and swamping for the sawyers, digging fire lines around spot fires and chasing spot
fires all over the place. I have experience holding lines during back burn operations. On this fire we
also did a lot of mop- up and cold trailing to make sure we extinguish any hot spots to lower the

chance of that spot igniting again, or it spotting in other areas, we also did hose lays and used the
hoses for wet mop-ups.
I was also a member of the On- Call crew program, in this program I was a certified A-class faller,
and a driver of one of the trucks. I was the only member of the program with a license to drive these
trucks, the other drivers were are overheads. During the on call program I was only on one roll that
lasted 4 days. During these 4 days we did PT every morning and then went to a project work area,
where we cut trees and stacked piles for a pile burning this fall or spring.
Another opportunity I had was to work with the fuels shop at the Mt. Hough Ranger District. Here I
helped with flagging burn units, rating piles on burn units that had already been thinned and piled, I
worked with making maps using the GIS programs, and learned how to use the GPS that tracks us
while we are walking the burn unit so we can take that info and turn it into a bigger map using GIS.
I had the opportunity to do ride a longs with two different fire patrol officers that worked out of the
MT. Hough Ranger District as well. During these ride a longs we looked for smoke alerts, or
abandoned camp fires, we made contacts with campers to make sure they had burn permits and also
to make sure the campers new the fire restrictions and that they knew the laws. We also made
contacts just to make sure people are having a good time and just to educate the public about wild
fires. While one of the ride a longs over the fourth of July weekend I got to participate in a fire
investigation that happened the night before, during this investigation we took pictures of what had
happened and took all the evidence to the LEOS at the District Office.
