Course: EDUC 255 Multicultural Teaching

Brief Description: For this assignment plans, I have included a thematic unit, for Third Grade
learners. The Thematic Unit is based on the book; We Like to Help Cook by Marcus Allsop. The
theme is different recipes from around the world. In the Thematic Unit, I have included all the
objectives for each Subject, along with the Indiana Academic Standards per each activity for the
lesson.

Rationale: With the help of my Thematic Unit, I am able to document my understanding of


Standard #2, Learning Differences. This Thematic Unit allows me to show my ability to plan my
lessons and instruction that will better support and educate all of my students in meeting strategic
learning goals by composing and rigorously using my knowledge of curriculum, communication,
and cross-disciplinary skills. It also helps me include different community and cultural
differences into our daily lessons plans.
