Proposal of line of Inquiry
Topic of the research paper: Should the US lower its drinking age?
Introductory statement
The United States of America is one of the rare country in the world with a
surprising legislation about the legal age of drinking. European countries
have a different perception of alcohol and age and age consumption. The
debate on the opportunity to lower the drinking age in the U.S or no is an
example of one of the very controversial topic that divide Americans people.
The numbers are used to prove the rightness of each position but in general
77% of the Americans people are opposed to the idea to lower the minimum
age to drink an alcoholic beverage.
This topic is important not only for the safety of young people and others
exposed to the fatalities on the Americans Highway but also to show the
difficult choice for the lawmakers between the reality and the common
thinking of the people who for them.
The Voice

The first voice for a better understanding of this topic is the scientific
community.
The second is the safety officials in the country and the last one is the voice
of different nongovernmental organizations that work every day to enforce or
reduce the law about the minimum legal age to purchase and consume
alcohol.
