The Times Editorial Board wrote this article discussing on why prop 66 should not be passed
and that prop 62 is what should be voted yes on. They argue that too many convicted murders but

it is because it is cruel and immoral. By eliminating the death penalty, the state would save
millions of dollars where that money could be put to better use.
Reed, Richard. "Civilized Nations Impose Capital Punishment." VVdailypress.com. N.p., 11 Oct.
2016. Web. 12 Oct. 2016.
In this opinionated article by Richard Reed who teaches political science philosophy, and
journalism, argues for prop 66 and that convicted murderers are still costing tax payers money

just by staying behind bars. Reed explains that if people would read the analysis on the ballot
measures, prop 66 actually will change a lot of things for the good. When he explains what will
be changed he states, these include utilizing trial courts for appeals, limiting appeals to five
years, requiring appointed attorneys to accept appeals, simplifying execution procedures,
authorizing prison transfers and increasing restitution payments to victims.
