Dear University Crossing,
As a resident of this apartment complex, I encourage you to provide
recycling bins to all residents. It is a privilege to be provided with two
trashcans, but it we would also welcome the opportunity to have a
recycling bin.
It is important that we keep our community green in order to move
forward in a positive direction. The average person generates about
four pounds of trash per day, and a lot of it can be recycled instead of
going into landfills. This comes out to be 1.5 tons of trash per person
per year. Seventy-five percent of that total can be recycled, but in
reality only thirty percent is. As college students living in an apartment
complex, it is hard for us to manage recycling habits if that luxury is
not provided for us.
If University Crossings provided a recycling option for each apartment
we would be eliminating tons of trash per year. This would gear toward
a healthier environment, and increase our changes of remaining at this
establishment for the duration of our college career.
