FILMING IN PUBLIC/CLEARENCES AND PERMISSION - RESEARCH TASK

The person that I would need to get permission off is the local authorities and the council, the first thing that I would have to do is contact
my location manger as they are helpful with finding the location to film on, get local information and useful local contact. Thats the first
step is finding a location manger. The second step is to go and talk to the local Tameside Council. The person who I would need contact to
film on the Tameside Metropolitan Borough council and their contact details are:
The Councils main postal address is:
PO Box 304
Ashton-under-Lyne
Tameside
OL6 0GA
General Call Centre phone number 0161 342 8355
This is a very important aspect of the production process because without getting on permission I might go into some legal troubles with
the police due to the fact that I do not have written permission slip. Another aspect is that if this production got stopped, the more money
the company would loose, therefore, getting the permission slip is vital in making a profit of film.
The person who I would need to get permission for to film on a public highway is the local police and the highways department. This is
because if there was a case in was on of the cast or crew got injured the police and department would be aware of what has happened.
Also, if there was a car accident the police and ambulance would be the first to be notified. The people that I would need to contact is the

This is a very important aspect of the production process because I believe that if there is any chance of someone being injured a figure of
authority would know and they would know what to do in those types of situations.
The people who I would need to get permission from if I plan to use special effects, explosives or fire arms is the police and the stunt
coordinator. The steps that I would need to take in the order to get permission is too do a practise run of how the special effects and
explosives are going to work. This is because it will show that these are safe and the people who use them know what they are doing. The
person I would contact if I was to use a replica weapon in Ashton Town centre is the Ashton police station and there contact detail is
Manchester Road
Ashton - under - Lyne
OL7 0BQ
This is important because the police need to be aware that if they hear or someone hears a gun shot that it is not real and its a part of a
production. This is so people in the area would know that it is not a serious situation and that everything is in control.
If I plan to use film stunts or explosives the people that I need to employ in the order to ensure health and safety are adhered to is a
professional film stunts or someone who knows a lot about stunt and if Im using explosive I would contact the HSE. The roles in the
production that they would need to carry out is to be on set all the time whilst an explosive or a stunt is happening. To give guidance and
advice on how to use or do stunts and the explosive. This is very important because if someone gets injured they could sue and in the

duties they carry out

order to counter that I would need to have someone who knows what theyre doing.

To obtain permission to film inside a shop or restaurant is to talk to the person who owns and runs the restaurant, are the people that I
should get permission if you don't want any problems and the manager of the company. To obtain the permission I will need to get a
written permission to use the location and the storeowner.
The steps that I would need to take in the order to film in a shop is to create a story bored which shows the manger what Im going to do
and also give a given date and time to the owner so they are prepared for the shot s well as the crew and cast. If I was planning on
filming in Macdonald I would need to contact the current MacDonald manager of the local MacDonald. This is because it would be hard to
contact the owner of McDonald as he is in America and Im in England. Therefore, this would be difficult to do. The contact detail is
Tel: +44 (0) 370 524 4622
McDonalds Restaurants Ltd
11-59 High Road
East Finchley
London
N2 8AW
This important as this is a huge company that needs to know that they are getting promoted by the production team fairly and
communicated well so there arent any miscommunications that could lead to people getting sued.
