Expats clinch Arusha Champion Cup 2016

Cricketers of Expats made it look easy as they beat Meru Cricketers on Sunday 30th October 2016 by a good
margin of 54 runs in the finals of the Arusha Champions Cup 2016.
Batting first Shailendar (35 runs), John (31 runs), Deepak (25 runs) and Mahmood (24 runs) put up a good total of
157 in their allotted 20 overs. Abhisek and Jaymin took 2 w ickets each, but MCC fielders dropped a lot of crucial
catches, thus not supporting their bow lers. In reply Nitesh w ho came right tow ards the end to bat w as the only
one w ho put up some resistance, w as left not out on 21 runs, as the rest of the batsmen crumbled to some good
bow ling by Mahmood (3 for 14) and John David (2 for 17).

Outstanding perf ormers - Arusha Champions Cup 2016

For their outstanding performances, Abhisek of MCC w ith 98 runs and 8 w ickets for 77 runs w as aw arded Man of
Series, w hile Mukhtar of Kilimeru took the Best Batsman's aw ard w ith a total of 89 runs. Aneesh of MCC w as
aw arded Best Bow ler for his 8 w ickets during the w hole competition. The prize aw ard of Best Fielder w ent to
Issa of TCA Boys.
Of all games played in this competition, the most impressive upcoming team w as the TCA Boys. These boys
played their hearts out in every game, before they fell to the Expats in the semi finals. They show ed some very
good batting / bow ling skills, but their most outstanding performances w ere w hile fielding and running betw een
the w ickets.
Arusha Cricketers have enjoyed a good 2016, and they hope to finish off w ith a six a side novelty event before
the end of the season.
