sentence structure, and paragraphing. a) Use a
variety of graphic organizers, including sentence
diagrams, to analyze and improve sentence
formation and paragraph structure. b) Choose
appropriate adjectives and adverbs to enhance
writing. c) Use pronoun-antecedent agreement to
include indefinite pronouns. d) Use subject-verb
agreement with intervening phrases and clauses. e)
Edit for verb tense consistency and point of view. f)
Demonstrate understanding of sentence formation
by identifying the eight parts of speech and their
functions in sentences. g) Use quotation marks with
dialogue. h) Use correct spelling for commonly used
words.
With this learning activity the students would use
the WordPress blogging site to better develop their
writing skills. For example, after teaching a lesson
regarding correct punctuation, sentence structure,
and all the following related to proper writing style,
I would have each student create a blog writing on
a certain subject and then have each student
correct one other classmates blog. So where they
see a need for more adverbs, a comma, and related
