‘STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA ‘SUPERINTENDENTS CONTRACT ‘COUNTY OF COLUMBUS ‘OF EMPLOYMENT, (N.C.G.8, 1156271) ‘THIS CONTRACT, is made and entered into on this the /Y day of July, 2011 by and between the COLUMBUS COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION, herenater called “THE BOARD™ amd HENRY ALAN FAULK, hercinafter called “SUPERINTENDENT end WHEREAS, the Board is required by NCGS. 1150-271 to ete into a writen contract with the’ Superintendent which states the terms and conditions of his employment, WITNESSETH ‘THAT pursuant to a Superintendent seach, that varios applications were taken snd thet HENRY ALAN FAULK vas duly sees and wunsimously approved by the Board on the 14" day of July, 2011 to be employed as the Superintendent of the Columbus County Schools in accordance withthe provisions of North Carolin Law ‘which details the terms, conditions, and duties of the Superintendent of Schools, the paris hereby contract and agree to the following tems of employment: ‘TERM: 1. Henry Alan Faulk, shall be employed es Superinendent of Columbus County ‘School System fort four (4) year term. Tht ny increases inthe Superintendent's salary or annual compensation during the term of {8s Contract shall be equal to the average of the annusl increases of salary for the "Teachers and Principals forth applicable year, The suppkment shall be increased in DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: “The Superintendent shall ave charge of the adminisitin ofthe school system under the diction of the Board. He shall be the secretry to the Board and chief executive offer ofthe school system. He shal perform the dues set fonh in NCGS. 11SC-276, including but not necessarily limited to the following duties and responsibilities: |. Heshall direct and assign teachers and other employees ofthe schoo! system under his supervision, subject to the approval of the Board; 2, He shall organize, reorganize, god arrange the edinstative sta, including Program Serices and Opemtions, as best serves the schol system, subject 10 the approval of te Board; 3, Heshal recommend the employment and discharge of all personne, subject to the approval f the Boer; 4, He shall recommend policies t the Board forthe Boss considestion and spproval; 5, Heshall establish edmiistratve regulations and procedures deemed necessary forthe welloering ofthe school system, subject to the approval of te Boar; and 6, Heshall perform such other duties as may be presrited bythe Board. PROFESSIONAL GROWTH: 1. The Superintendent sll be provided periodic opportunities to discuss with the “Boar hi job perfomance. He shall present a comprehensive go! erend management plan tothe Beard foreview annually. 2, The Superintendent shall tend appropriate professional mestngs atthe local, stare and national level, the expenses of Sd atendence a meetings tobe pu by the ‘Boned as set beh herein above.
