Original Policy
The required textbook for this class is Probability and Statistics for
Engineers and Scientists, Fourth Edition, by Anthony Hayter. You will
not pass this class unless you have this textbook. You will be required
to read the textbook and review practice problems in each section
outside of class.
I also highly recommend that you buy the Student Solutions Manual for
the required text- book. It provides worked-out solutions to the types of
problems you will have to master in this course. Having access to this
solutions manual will significantly increase the likelihood of doing well
in this course.
Policy Revision
This course will utilize Probability and Statistics for Engineers and
Scientists, Fourth Edition, by Anthony Hayter. This textbook will be

the class.
