Levelled Literacy Intervention: Fountas and

Pinnell is reading program that is incorporated
throughout the school. It has numerous books
for each reading level. It monitors students
reading and comes with assessment tools to
mark when students reading improves and are
able to move up a reading level.

How you can help!

Read with your child at least 15 minutes

every night.
Taking turns reading. E.g. Child reads one
page; parents read the next page.
Making sure student is comprehending the
text is important, which can be done by
using various reading strategies.
Trying multiple strategies at home is useful
for the students since learning techniques
used at school are reinforced at home.
Reading material should be at students
reading level.
Be a reading model. Let your child see that
you read and talk about reading to your
child.
As parents you have an important role in
helping your child to become a success reader
and constantly grow in their reading abilities.
