I am writing to you as I am very interested in the open teacher position at your school.

I
feel that I am a very qualified individual for this job. I am currently a junior at the University of
Redlands working towards a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Anthropology. Alongside this
Bachelors degree I am enrolled in the teaching credential program. I will be receiving my
multiple-subject teaching credential in the Winter of 2016, something that will allow me to be
highly qualified for the position.
I am a mentor for a program at the U of R called Im Going to College. Im Going to
College, also referred to as IGTC, is a program that invites younger students from both
elementary and middle schools to the University of Redlands. While at the University of
Redlands the students learn about the school and about college as a whole and the multiple facets
of college life. As a mentor for this program I give tours to and help hold a Q & A session for
elementary and middle schoolers interested in learning more about college.
I am not one to sign up for and get involved in everything I can just to do it. I hold back
from taking part in too many involvements because I want to put my all into everything I do; I
am usually only involved in one thing at a time and everything I do revolves around this. This
comes through in my work ethic and if awarded this position I will continue to follow this ethic.
I believe I am very qualified for this position. I would very much appreciate if you would
take some time to give me an interview and I will better show you my qualifications and why am
I the best possible applicant for this position.
