Burning Love as recorded by Elvis Presley (1972)

Features:
The instruments enter one at a time in the introduction in the following order:
rhythm guitar, piano, bass, and drums.

Both even and uneven beat subdivisions are kept by the instruments, with the bass
and guitar usually maintaining even subdivisions and the piano keeping unevenly
subdivided beats. Presley's vocals are generally unevenly subdivided. A strong
backbeat is kept in the drums.

The backup vocal group breaks into a black gospel style with two high male soloists
during the ending repetitions of the final phrase.

Tempo:
The tempo is approximately 144 beats per minute, with four beats per bar.

Form:
The form is based on eight-bar periods, each of which is made up of two four-bar
phrases. After a four-bar introduction, the periods follow the pattern A A B A A B B A
A B and end with repetitions of the final phrase and a fade-out. The B sections all
begin with the words "Your kisses" except for the third B, in which the B melody is
played instrumentally.

Lyrics:
The singer is so aflame with sexual desire that he is burning up.
