Shaving forcibly scrapes away the skin’s
surface lipids and cells. The average beard
grows 2mm per day, so for most men
shaving is a daily necessity. Add alcohol
based aftershaves and environmental
conditions and the result is irritated skin 24/7.
The skin cells can over-react to repeated stresses such as shaving.
We have incorporated a Marine Peptide to influence the skin’s

A man’s skin comes into daily contact with many
aggressions, UV rays, wind, cold, urban grime and smoke
filled atmospheres. Many of these aggressors generate
free radicals, which can affect the performance of the skin’s
vital functions. Others promote the growth of bacteria
harmful to the skin’s hydrolipidic film.
Hawthorn Extract has anti-microbial properties which
provide the skin with protection against harmful bacteria;
encouraging healthy skin.
Vitamins C, E and Juniper Extract - which is high in
polyphenols - work synergistically together to fight free
radicals. Our Pongamia Extract contains an active
compound which helps to protect the skin against UV rays,
particularly UVA. It is also an excellent antioxidant.

Daily shaving, poor cleansing and climatic conditions can all help to
damage the skin’s hydrolipidic film. This film functions as a barrier. It
is the first line of defence against aggressors. When the film is
weakened or damaged the skin is more susceptible to infection or
irritation and the skin becomes dry. Dry, flaky skin has lost the ability
to maintain moisture. Lipids are the skin’s own survival kit; they ensure
that the skin is kept well moisturised. It is vital to keep a good level of
lipids in the skin.
We have selected Blackcurrant Seed Oil which is particularly high in
Oleic, Linoleic and Linolenic essential fatty acids. Part of the lipid layer,
essential fatty acids help to maintain the suppleness of the skin. Our
pure Phyto Squalane; derived from olives, has a natural affinity to the
skin and helps to prevent trans-epidermal water loss.
Sodium Hyaluronate and Polysaccharides are natural sugars found in
the extra-cellular matrix - they help hold and retain water in the skin.

Prepare your client and ask him to lay on his
back.
Apply pressure over his shoulders and push
forwards while he exhales.
Apply three occipital stretches to release
tension in the back of the neck.
Refresh eyes using the Eye Lotion.
Cleanse face, neck and shoulders with Fresh
Wash and remove with warm sponges. A
brush-cleanse is more suitable for stubbly
areas.
Spray Toning Mist onto the face and neck.
On a damp skin using your fingertips massage
in the New Skin Scrub to the cleansed areas,
paying particular attention to the nose and
chin. Remove with warm sponges
Apply hot lime-soaked mitts to the face, neck
and shoulders using small rotary movements.
If preferred a facial steamer can be used.
Tap the Vital Eye Gel around the circumference
of each eye and massage into pressure points.
Apply Facial Oil and massage the neck and
face using pressure point techniques and
lymphatic drainage to energise the skin.
Mix the contents of the Algae Mask with
150mls of warm water and mix well to form a
paste. Using a spatula or concave side of a
spoon, smooth the mask onto the face and
neck areas. Leave in place for 10 minutes.
Whilst mask is on massage the chest, shoulders
and arms, completing with finger pulls on each
hand.

Starting from the neck edge, roll off the mask in one piece
and rinse or tone away any residue.
Tap on Vital Eye Gel around the eye area.

OPTIONAL: for a zingy uplifting finish to the VITRU Complete
treatment, massage a small amount of Energy Rub to the
soles of the feet and the back of the neck, finishing in the

Contra-indications
All the usual facial contra-indications apply and should
be checked prior to each treatment.
It is advisable for your client to come cleanly shaven to
his appointment.
Omit neck stretches on any clients with a history of neck
or back problems.
Note - These products contain ingredients at active
levels. We therefore advise that a thorough
consultation is carried out prior to treatments together
with patch testing for any client with hyper-sensitivity
or an existing skin condition.

VITRU Professional Masks
Algae Mask
Empty the 46g sachet into a bowl and add 150ml of
warm water. Mix well with a spatula – the mask should
be a uniform paste.
Working quickly, apply the mask to the face using a
spatula. With upward motions, start with the neck area
and move towards the hairline. Leave the eye and lip
areas free. Create thick edges so that the mask can be
easily peeled away.
The mask will start to take on a rubbery consistency and
should be left on the skin for approximately 10 minutes.
Gently slide your fingers underneath the outer edges of
the mask and roll it away from the neck and face in one
piece.
Remove any residue with damp cotton wool.
