Strengths
I am very open-minded.
I am very forgiving.
I am a person of integrity.
I am very hopeful. Although I might be down when an upsetting event occurs, I
eventually see a silver lining in any situation.
I am a perfectionist.
I am very empathetic.
Weaknesses
I dont take criticism very well.
I get stressed easily.
I am a perfectionist. This may also be considered a weakness because I
sometimes take too much time doing tasks. However, my final work represents
the absolute best that I can do.
Goals in Life
I wish to pursue a career in teaching, specifically working with high school
students in teaching them the Spanish language and culture. I hope that this
career will allow me to make a difference and an impact in a childs life, not only
academically but personally as well. I want to be able to not only just use my
knowledge in my career field, but I also want to use my talents and passions. I
want to use my career of being a teacher in a way to help those in need.
I wish to see and travel the world, specifically visiting Central American, South
American, and European countries.
I hope to do a lot of voluntary missionary work in the future, helping those who
are less-fortunate while spreading the love of Jesus Christ.
Because of the peace and tranquility the atmosphere of the beach brings me,
living by Lake Michigan or the ocean has always been a dream of mine.
Therefore, I hope to either move to live on the west side of Michigan, or move out
of the state to live somewhere down South along the east coast or along the west
coast of the country.

Life Preparation
I am currently receiving education to prepare myself for a career in the future. I
am attending Henry Ford College in order to receive a great education with the
Honors Program, and to save money for when I transfer to a four-year university.
While attending Henry Ford College, I received my first job as the Honors
Program office assistant. I believe that this job has really prepared me for
upcoming jobs in the future.
During the summer of 2014, I obtained a summer job as a toll booth attendant to
work for all three Metroparks in the city of New Boston: Lower Huron, Willow, and
Oakwood Metroparks. This job has helped me save money to fund my college
career while I take time off from school in the summer. It has also given me a lot
of experience in customer service.
Life Events
On a specific day in April of 2009, I participated for the first time in my middle
schools annual talent show. This was the first time I sang in front of a big
audience, and I was very nervous because of my stage fright. After my
performance, so many people complimented me on my talent. I felt so much
more confident in not only my singing and stage performances, but in myself. I
believe that this event really helped me break out of my shell a bit more into who
I am today.
On July 2nd, 2011, I went on my first mission to feed the homeless in Detroit with
a group from my church. It was the first time that my eyes were truly opened to
see how unfortunate some peoples lives can become. I witnessed the homeless
stories of how they got to where they are now. Since this day, I have seen life
differently, and I look at it with a different perspective. I no longer judge people
like I once did, and I am more appreciative of the people and things that I have in
my life now.

In August of 2011, I joined Huron High Schools marching band. I was not very
confident in joining because I was weary to try new things back then. However, I
eventually decided to join. I soon learned that I absolutely loved it. Because of
this experience, I am now not afraid to try something new and different. I also
learned to be more confident in who I truly am by joining the marching band. The
members of the band were so close to one another, and no one seemed to care
about what anyone else thought about them. They were comfortable in just being
themselves. I admired that so much, and soon learned to just be my true self as
well.
On March 31st, 2014, I received the devastating news from my parents that they
were getting a divorce. When they told me, I was going through a very stressful
time during my last semester of my college freshman year. I focused very hard
on my studies, trying not to let the fact that my father was leaving our family take
over my mind and heart. I struggled trying to juggle school, family, and all my
emotions at the same time. Ultimately, I academically overcame the family ruin
and received an overall 4.0 GPA for the semester. I did the same for the Fall
2014 semester, receiving another 4.0 GPA, and I have continued to work hard
and receive high grades in my other classes. Some days are still very hard for
me emotionally and mentally because of this occurrence. However, I have
definitely become a stronger person throughout this challenging experience.
For the Winter 2016 semester at Henry Ford College, I volunteered to be a tutor
for my Honors Program campus service hours for a second semester. During this
service, I was able to tutor a student for her Spanish class, and I absolutely loved
it. Although I have helped fellow classmates in the past during class time, it was a
completely different experience to actually go through all the material the student
needed assistance with. Because of the rewarding satisfaction I felt from helping
a student in their academics, the whole experience helped me confirm my career
choice of becoming a teacher in the future.
