As I first began to look at my source I viewed the highlights section in the very beginning
that gives a brief description of the effects of transferring juvenile offenders to adult court. The
description also includes information about the main sources that were used as well as compared
in the article. Following the brief description is a list of what the following pages will go more
in-depth about in a two to three sentences. The overall argument is based around the
developmental disruptions, societal adjustment, and the likelihood of criminal act among
adolescents.
Although the source doesnt have a table of contents or an index the short source is
precisely divided into sections. In the various sections specific topics are discussed then as it
ends it slowly introduces new ideas that will be explained under the next subtitle. The source
follows a cause and effect sequence allowing the reader to see the changes in policy then the
effects then how the effects are long lasting causing problems beyond the facility.
The endnotes mostly only containing information about the website sponsoring the study
that provided examples to go along with the factual evidence being proved. The references
provided within the bibliography do have some similar names but all have different titles or
article names. The topics of the references are very relevant to the topic Im researching, most of
the titles contain the words I used to find my sources through the library.

Skimming the source it was very easy to find relevant facts to my topic. The sources goes
into the changes of policy over the years regarding transfer practices. The data of juvenile
transfer data is also analyzed along with the information from the study.
There is are also even smaller subtitles that revolve around specific effects such as victimization
and longer sentencing.
