a. Sherry Turkle expresses in her book cover how modern society relies on
technology to belong to the rest of society. She paradoxically expresses
this in her book title, Alone Together showing how we feel like we are
together by being alone. This is further exemplified by putting pictures of
people looking at their phones and placing them all over the cover
highlighting how much our society relies on technology to belong to
society
b. Moved to Fitzroy in 1989 .. Where I landed in my skin hyperbolically
endorses her connection to Fitzroy. The author also further highlights using

c. The author has created a strong sense of place in his story using truncated
sentences at the beginning, This blue, indolent town. Its cats. Its pale sky
visually endorses how he feels connected to the place in which he is at the
point of time in the story, however at this point he has a negative opinion.
Nevertheless, towards the end, he begins to have a positive opinion on the
new town, the click is a pleasing sound auditorily and emotively
expresses how he is beginning to enjoy the new place. This is furthermore
expressed using visual imagery, the gravel, small as peas, moves beneath
my feet the perfume of the town also further endorses how he is
starting to have a positive view on the town showing his negative sense of
place changing to a positive sense of place.
