The purpose of art is to express meaning of your own belief in a unique way.

That is the
special value that art brings. Not only that, but art brings people together in any form of it. That
includes paintings, music, and dancing because through tough times art is always there to bring
people or communities together.
The election project is a great example of expressing the measures and races for each.
Inspired by the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat is a way we expressed each measure or race on
the outside. On the inside, it was kind of divided in half. With one half being in support of the
measure or race and the other half being against the measure or race. The way of expressing
each was by haiku, a japanese style poem, which gave the main points for each argument.
Another example of the value of art is our Renaissance project. This displays the power
of bringing people together when needed. During this project we looked at how Harlem was set
up and how it brought their community together. For instance various clubs and places for
gathering large groups of people were very close to neighborhoods. This allowed the people to
get together and often was around music such as jazz was played at these places where the
African American community thrived as one.
Another reason Harlems community was brought together well was because of the
support many artist received. At one point in Harlem there was an entire apartment complex
dedicated to the talented bunch of people who would perform in Harlem. This just shows how
much they valued the arts.
In a way art was used to express the side of an argument for local races and measures.
Art also has the power to bring communities together as a whole. The value of art can have
many meanings depending on how it is used. No matter what it is used for art has a significant
importance in bringing people together and unifying them. As well as expressing the point you
want to make in your own unique way that distinguishes who you are as a person.
