Springs Musician Plays Blue Notes For A Green Planet

What: Butterfly Zone, a chamber jazz concert

Acclaimed flutist/composer Joseph Liberti and his New
Age Jazz Quintet will premiere Butterfly Zone, a concert
of original chamber jazz music inspired by nature. Net
proceeds of the concert will support The Nature
Conservancy and Friends of the Earth.
I just felt I needed to do more to forward environmental
issues at this critical moment, Liberti said. I decided to
combine my two great loves - music and nature - and
devote the rest of my life to making music to support the
environment.
The music in Butterfly Zone will be a fusion of jazz and
classical styles, with inspiring melodies, diverse rhythms, orchestral sounds, jazz
harmonies and improvised solos. The non-traditional ensemble includes flute, cello,
guitar, vibraphone and bass.
