1. Research Topic :
An individual research assignment to produce report (approximately 3000 words) on computer
operating systems. Upload link and Submission Date will be posted on moodle.

2. Report Findings
Report on your understand on an operating systems and the differences between Windows and
Unix operating systems. What are the functions of an operating systems carries out and describe
how the operating system carried out these functions?
The report will include your understanding of the functions of an operation system and how it
works and including two references.
It is important to gauge how reliable and credible your sources are. Source information that has
been supplied and compiled and reviewed by others for example are:- books, periodicals,
journals, library databases and some Web sites.
Regardless of what type of sources you use, they must be credible. In other words, your sources
must be reliable, accurate, and trustworthy.
All information use that is not you own work must be references including text, pictures,
diagrams etc. (reference both direct quotes or paraphrase information)
Additional Information:
Your intended audience for the report will have a basic knowledge of computers. Your report
should include details of how an operating systems works and details of how it manages its
resources such as Memory, Processor, Storage and Device.
