WEEKLY UPDATE ON COTTON CROP

DOMESTIC COTTON CROP SCENARIO
Seed cotton picking has started in Punjab & in Southern Sindh third and forth picking is in progress.
Yields are better in both Sindh & Punjab. Whitefly attack remained severe during last three months.
however, as the temperature started falling, the infestation of whitefly also declined. Incidence of Pink
bollworm is still at higher side specially in Punjab. However, the damages are less as compare to last year.
Seed cotton prices remained between Rs. 2200 to Rs. 3050 per 40 kg in Sindh and Rs. 3050 to Rs.
3200 per 40 kg in Punjab. Lint prices are also at par with international prices and remained between Rs.
5520 to Rs. 6540 per 40 kg in Sindh and Rs. 6320 to Rs. 6540 per 40 kg in Punjab.
