15th May Chapter Meeting
A
speech galore session and nomination of
the new EXCO (2008/2009) took centre
stage at latest chapter meeting on 15th
May, 2008. after an inspiring addressed by our
“blessed” club president, Tommy, it was time to
roll out the showcase of wit and confidence – the 5
project speeches ( in order of presentation ) were
anything but stoic.
1. Saddiqi threw enlightening “Do-You-Knows”
on the versatile uses of the Cinnamon stick,
with an informative power point presentation
and a real stick, in his Project 4 speech
2. Melvin’s personal story on the relationship
between the pencil and our lives was thought-
provoking in his Project 6 speech. Like writing
with a pencil, we are bound to make mistakes
along the way.
3. Kenneth made all of us hungry by sharing with
us on how to review food based on taste and
A New Beginning

s soon as the guests filtered out after the chap-
ter meeting, members of our club gathered to
carry out a most important task - the Nomina-
tions for the Executive Commmittee (EXCO) for 2008-
2009.
We carefully made our way to the seats located at
ground level to conduct the nominations. Our Club
President, the ever-effervescent Tommy Teo, broke the
deafening silence (well, there were mini chats...) by re-
minding those in attendance that the nomina-
tions meeting is a serious occasion.

appearance in his Project 8 speech.
4. National Service men will rejoice as a (rarely)
straight-faced Lawrence delivered a statement
on reducing the length on the “productive”
years of NS period in his Advanced Project 1-
Straight Talk.
5. “News anchor” , Tommy gave a timely update
on the Red Cross’s rescue efforts of the dev-
astating Myanmar cyclone and Si Chuan earth-
quake in his Advanced Project 3 – Public Rela-
tions.
Kenneth and Damon won the Best Speaker and
Best Evaluator ribbons respectively.
Many thanks to Rajeevi for being asuperbly cool,
calm and composed TME, Saddiqi ( for setting the
place up and for refreshments), Saddiq (Timer),
Yeow Khoon (Ar-counter) and Kumaran, Law-
rence , Damon and Wekie for their invaluable
evaluations.
