Re: [JR] Tanvir ji and Partha Sarathy ji: Beeja sphuta, Kshetra sphuta, and Putra tithi
Respected Bala Ji, Tanvir Ji, Partha Sarathy Ji, and all learned members of this
group
Beeja Sphuta, Kshetra Sphuta and Putra Tithi (Santana Tithi) have been
elaborately mentioned in standard books and mentioned by Shri Bala Ji, but I am
tempted to quote the explanation for Beeja and Kshetra as given in How To Judge
A Horoscope Vol.1 by Dr. B. V. Raman
In case of a male, add together the longitude of Sun, Venus and Jupiter. Expunge
multiples of 360 degrees. The sign arrived at indicates what is called Beeja
Sphuta or longitude of seed.
Similarly in a female horoscope add together the longitude of Mars, Moon and
Jupiter. Expunge multiples of 360 degrees. The sign arrived at represents the
longitude of the bed or Kshetra Sphuta

I have cast the couples horoscope by Raman Ayanamsa with the data mentioned in
Shri Bala Jis posting. The Ephemeris used in JHL or the Algorithm used for
calculations has a minor error when calculating degrees. I am using Raman
Ayanamsa with the option 1 Degree 27 Minutes and 1 Second less than Lahiri to
arrive at a close approximation of actual degrees (against Standard Ephemeris).
The error is less than 1 Second, however the software does not allow fractional
corrections. Learned members may not agree to my findings, I bow my head to
their wisdom and experience.

Beeja and Kshetra Calculations
********
Shri Bala Ji has omitted taking the signs in respect to degrees of planets,
hence the error in his calculations.
*********
For this I am mentioning the explanation and method given in Prasna Marga Vol.
2 page 110 under the chapter Issues according to Birth Horoscope by Dr. B. V.
Raman.
Convert the birth time into Vighatis (calculated from Sunrise), divide this by
50
Quotient = x
Expunge multiples of 12 from x to get y
13 Signs (390 Degrees) y = Sun
Sun multiplied by 5 = Santana Sun
Y + 8 Signs 15 Degrees (255 Degrees) = Moon
Moon multiplied by 5 = Santana Moon
Santana Moon Santana Sun = Santana Tithi
*********
Husband:
Birth time is 0700 Hrs, Sunrise: 6:37:35 or 0:22:25 after Sunrise or
22 x 60 = 1320 + 25 = 1345 Seconds after Sunrise, divide this by 24 to get
Vighatis
So the birth time is 56.0416 Vighatis
56.0416 divided by 50 = 1.12083 (x) since this is less than 12, x = y.
390 x = 388.879, expunging 360 we get 28.879 ~ Sun
28.879 multiplied by 5 = 144.395 (Santana Sun)
1.12083 + 255 = 256.12083 ~ Moon
256.12083 multiplied by 5 = 1280.604 expunging multiples of 360 we get 200.604
(Santana Moon)
Now 200.604 144.395 = 56.20915 (Santana Tithi)
Divide this by 12 we get Santana Tithi as 4.684 or Shukla Panchami
Wife:
Birth time is 0700, Sunrise: 5:26:44 or 1:33:16 after Sunrise
1 x 60 = 60 + 33 = 93, 93 x 60 = 5580 + 16 we get birth time as 5596 seconds
after sunrise.
Divided by 24 we get birth time as 233.1666 Vighatis
233.1666 divided by 50 = 4.6633 as x, since this is less than 12, x = y
390 x = 385.3367, expunging multiples of 360 we get 25.3367 ~ Sun
25.3367 multiplied by 5 = 126.6835 (Santana Sun)
4.6633 + 255 = 259.6633 ~ Moon
259.6633 multiplied by 5 = 1298.3165 expunging multiples of 360 we get 218.3165
(Santana Moon)
Now 218.3165 - 126.6835 = 91.633 (Santana Tithi)
Divide this by 12 we get Santana Tithi as 7.636 or Shukla Ashtami

Analysis:
In the Husbands horoscope, the lord of the 5th house Saturn is Retrograde and
in the 8th house. It receives the aspect of Gulika and Mandi. The 5th lord from
the Moon is again Saturn. According to Classical Texts if Jupiter is in
Sagittarius, birth of progeny is delayed.
In the female chart the lord of the 5th house (Venus) is vanquished in greh
yuddh. It also receives the aspect of Saturn from the 3rd house. Jupiter and
Mandi both occupy the 5th house in Navamsa.
Beeja Sphuta in the husbands horoscope receives the aspect of Gulika and Mandi
in Rasi, in Navamsa the Beeja Sphuta is in the same house as Gulika.
Kshetra Sphuta in the wifes horoscope is with Saturn in Navamsa. Lord of the
6th and 5th are in Greh yuddh, with the lord of the 5th being vanquished.
There are several points in the respective horoscopes to deny children. There
are plus points too. The Beeja Sphuta is conjoined with Jupiter in Rasi.
Presence of Jupiter in the female charts Navamsa 5th house is good. However in
my own humble view, the birth of children is also dependant on ruling Dasa
periods and yearly transit of planets. In sensitive cases such as the one
presented for study, both the Dasa periods and Transit planets play a vital role
in giving progeny.

PS
About Gulika and Mandi:
I am using the principles and calculations as mentioned in various texts by
Raman Associates, namely
Gulika:
Divide the day duration by 8. Each division (Khanda) has a different lord. The
Ascendant degree arrived at erecting a horoscope defined by the beginning of
Saturns Khanda on a day defines the Gulikas position.
In the husbands case, the day duration is 652.5 Minutes; each Khanda is
equivalent to 81.5625 Minutes (decimal). Since the birth is on Friday, the
Gulikas time is reckoned at beginning of 2nd Khanda, which is Sunrise time
(6:37:35) + 81.5625 (1:21:33) = 7:59:08 Hrs. This gives Gulika as 216.117
(decimal) degrees.
In the wifes case the day duration is 827 Minutes; each Khanda is equivalent to
103.375 Minutes (decimal). Since the birth is on a Sunday, the Gulikas time is
JHL has an error in its software; I hope Murphy isnt deceiving me!!! Unless JHL
is based on a different Ganitha!!!! Maybe some learned member can add to my
