Team
Hi. My name is Diana Costchel. I am CEO at Queen and I
am going to tell you about it. How we started? It all started as a
game when Mdlina, Alexandru, Cristi, Alex and I have just
graduated Polytechnic University of Bucharest five years ago and
we thought at what should we do now? A game was the answer.
Why? We dont know: word is full of games. Our first and
surprisely and quite successful application was Panda Run.
After that it was definitely a bad idea to quit so we put
bases of our company, Queen. In the beginning I was the one in
charged with recrutation, but now is Mdlina, Chief Human
Resources officer (CHRO). Alex is now CEO at Marketing, Cristi
Director of IT Department and Alex Finances.
In present, we have more than 500 people, 3 projects
finished (Mafia reloaded, Portal man, Art of Sword) and 2 in
progress. Our target for this year is to open 2 more centers, to
reach 1000 employees and to rise our production with 15% than
last year.
As a CEO I:
o Own the vision: propose and sustain a strategy, in
conjunction with the Board;
o lead and oversee the implementation of the Companys long and
short term plans in accordance with its strategy;
o ensure that expenditures of the Company are within the
authorized annual budget of the Company;
o sustain annual meeting of shareholders and develop the agenda
for the meeting;
o Provide the proper resources: keeping a proper balance of
resources for all
o ensure effective internal controls and management information
systems are in place;

o ensure that the Company has appropriate systems to enable it to


conduct its activities both lawfully and ethically;
o act as a liaison between management and the Board;
o communicate
effectively
with
shareholders,
employees,
Government authorities, other stakeholders and the public;
o Build the culture: must constantly observe and be involved to
achieve the desired culture from top to bottom, across all
departments, making the people to feel safe and respected,
making them to perform at their best
o Make good decisions, in all situations
o ensure the Company is appropriately organized and staffed and to
have the authority to hire and terminate staff as necessary to
enable it to achieve the approved strategy;
o Oversee and discuss the company's performance
o assess the principal risks of the Company and to ensure that
these risks are being monitored and managed;
o have to be an example and I have to encourage all employees to
conduct their activities in accordance with all applicable laws and
the
Companys
standards
and
policies,
including
its
environmental, safety and health policies.

Human Resources Department


My name is Mdlina Vnturi and to begin with, Ill tell you
some words about the department that I represent. Human
resources (HR) is the company department charged with finding,
recruiting and training job applicants, as well as with their salary
and benefits.

In my profession it is very important to examine carefully all


the possible employees because their progress can affect the
entire company. I have to check them through interviews and to
find out if they have good recommendations so that I can make
the best choice. Moreover, being responsible of the Human
Resources department, I have to attract talented people who fit
the requirements of our firm. That means I have to make them a
great offer so that they want to come and work for us.
After we passed this first step, the new employees benefit of
training. The concept of training refers to teaching, or developing
skills and knowledge that improve ones performances. That way I
make sure if they are suitable for the position and if they can
adapt to our conditions. This phase is very important because we
have to know from the beginning if we can rely on them.
Another important part of my duty is to take care of the
salary and benefits of each employee. The way I choose to reward
our employees requires a lot of consideration from me because it
can attract, engage and retain key employees. It is also necessary
that I keep an eye on the offers of the other companies so that I
can develop the best strategy.
In addition to that, I have to handle some activities that are
intended to foster relationships and increase loyalty. For example,
a team building is a great opportunity to develop new skills and
socialize with people who share the same values and have
common goals with you.
To sum up, I think that the Human Resources department
plays an important role for the good running of a company,
especially when you start up from scratch as we did.

Marketing Depatment
Hi. My name is Alexandru Lipici. I am the Marketing CEO of
Queen and I am going to tell you about my responsibilities. Its
not so difficult to understand our work.

My department job is to make a better image for our


organization, to grow the firm in the eyes of consumers. All of this
thanks to the employees of this department who are creative and
clever. How is this happening? Well, there are people who
coordinate the production of public relations, media, promotions
and advertising. They ensure the organizations message is
distributed across channels and to targeted audiences in order to
meet sales objectives. Sounds to complicate? In few words this
means that we are seeking out new ways to launch commercials
in social media to hear about us, about our games.
What should I do as CEO in this department? I often plan,
direct and coordinate marketing budgets in accordance to
organizational goals. Reviewing and approving advertising
campaigns, marketing reports and expenditures are additional job
duties. Most significant responsibility is generating revenue by
increasing sales through successful marketing (using market
research, pricing, product marketing, marketing communications,
advertising and public relations) and reduce costs for the entire
organization. To do it successfully, I recruit, hire and supervise
staff, including creative directors, graphic designers, application
developers and media professionals.
I usually work in a private office, 45 hours per week. When a
deadline is approaching, I need to put extra hours. Sometimes I
travel to satellite offices to discuss with the subordinates about
new ideas for promoting.

IT Department
Hi. My name is Sandu Cristi. I am a very passionate and
ambitious person who likes challenges. I love the technology and
everything that surrounds it. I am also the IT director at Queen
and I am going to detail my tasks. I can proudly say I lead a team
of smart people who really represents us. It is the most important

department of the company, because you know we are a Video


Games company.
First of all I am responsible for the management, strategy
and execution of the IT infrastructure. That means researching
and planning implementation of the most recent technologies in
my company. My career also involves overseeing technical
projects, working with engineers, and directing development
processes.
What I do in fact?
I am working with my engineers to find solutions to manage
business activities.
I supervise my team, while working closely with management,
external vendors and advisors.
I try identifying new market opportunities.
I manage the financial aspect of IT development.
I directly communicate with the CEO, about my department.
I communicate effectively with internal clients to identify needs
and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies.
I ensure that department is well informed, at all times, of
changes and news worthy events within the company.
I promote the company through speaking engagements at
industry conferences and involvement in local business
organizations.
I should provide senior level resolution to internal client issues.
I create an environment where innovators can successfully
achieve professional career path goals.
Of course I realize regular team events and team-buildings
away from the office.

Finances
Hi. My name is Alex Vasilescu. I am Chief Financial
Officer (CFO) at Queen. You will probably ask what the job of
a CFO is. Today, I want to tell you about my function in this
company. I'm responsible for the financial management of the
company. I have many attributions:

Assist in formulating the company's future direction and


supporting tactical initiatives
Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business
plans
Develop financial and tax strategies
Manage the capital request and budgeting processes
Develop performance measures that support the company's
strategic direction
Shortly, Im responsible with money (salaries, salary
bonuses, bills, numbers, sales and accountability) based on
statistics received from colleagues. It's simple! Ok, I'm joking.
A CFO has many attributions and he need to be very focused
on his work, because if CFO does something wrong, he can
cause very serious problems. For a CFO is important how
spend time. I spend a quarter of the time for strategic
aspects, half of the time for financial departmentaccountability and the rest for other financial problems.
