yard, truck loading silo and rail loading silo upto settlement pond is in Contractors
scope. All contaminated drains shall be provided with pre-cast RCC covers.
The culverts shall be designed to suit the type of traffic movement envisaged for
operation and maintenance of the stockpile area.
Additional culverts shall be provided (if required) to cross the new/ existing roads to
connect the drains to main storm water drain is in the scope of contractor.
Necessary measures shall be taken by the bidder in the coke stock yard to remove the water
coming out of stored coke.
RCC drain shall be provided in paved area & RR masonry drain in offsite area.
Drains shall be provided around all pump sheds/ stations (sanitary sewer pump station,
dust suppression pump sheds) to collect storm water and shall be merged/ routed to
nearest storm water drain.

2.4

SETTLEMENT POND
RCC Settlement pond having minimum capacity 1000 cu.m (1000 cu.m capacity
excludes clear water compartment capacity) shall be provided (refer scope drawing).
Pumps (minimum one working + one stand by) shall be provided in the settlement
pond to pump the clear water from Clear water compartment to the coke pit near
DCU unit (refer scope drawing). All items required to pump clear water from settlement
pond to the destination including pumps, piping, fittings, valves, accessories etc. is
under the scope of Contractor. Pump sizing shall be done considering the incoming
flow to settlement pond i.e. , moisture/ water content of coke (20 m3/hr) and sprinkler
flow of dust suppression system within coke storage yard, truck loading and rail loading
silos. Pump head shall be adequately designed to meet the requirement. Pumps shall
be suitable for handling fine particles of coke.
STTLEMENT POND is to be provided with SHED of adequate height in order to
facilitate cleaning/ maintenance.
SETTLEMENT POND (including design, engineering and construction, complete in all
respects) is in the scope of Coke handling system package contractor.

2.5

CABLE ROAD CROSSINGS


Design and construction of main/ approach road crossings for electrical and instrument
cables including finalization of cable routing, wherever required. For all electrical/
instrument cables crossing the main/ approach roads, suitable road crossings either by
PVC pipes encased in concrete or RCC ducts/ culverts shall be provided as per
Electrical/ Instrumentation requirements. Crossings shall be designed to withstand the
load of crane movement envisaged for erection / maintenance.

2.6

RCC PAVING AND HARD STAND


RCC pavement to be provided in stock pile area (from approach gate to central
column and all around central column for crane movement area) and truck loading
silo area. Contractor shall design the pavement sections including hard stand
