Lesson Plan

Terminal Learning Objective: Upon completion of this activity the learner will be able
to successfully upload error-free prescriptions to the physicians queue.
Note: At this point in the training, the learners have already been exposed to all of the
information they need to successfully input prescriptions into Rcopia
Initial Presentation: Using application performance strategy as a learning and
evaluation method, the instructor will hand out five prescriptions to each learner to enter
into Rcopia. This will be an individual activity and the learners will be instructed to only
ask questions to the instructor. "When a learner successfully sends all five prescriptions
to the physicians queue he/she will have successfully completed this training.

The prescriptions will contain the following scenarios:

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

The practice prescriptions are included in a pdf document
Generative Strategy: Each learner will individually input the five provided prescriptions,
and in doing so, will demonstrate their proficiency using Rcopia.
Time: The learners will be given as much time as they need to complete the activity.
However, it is estimated that it will take about 30 minutes for the group.
Additional Notes to the Instructor:
-Before dismissing the learners, verify that each individual has correctly entered all of
the practice prescription prompts. If an individual has sent prescriptions with any error(s)
to the queue, work with that individual to fix the error(s) before ending the training
session.

- The learners should only be given the #4 and #5 practice prescriptions when
specifically requested. Do not hand them out until then! The learner needs to state what
information is missing/incorrect verbally to you in order to receive the updated scripts.
- Verbally instruct the students as to what they need to do in order to complete this
activity; written directions are included but it always helps to explain it out loud, too!
-Remind the students that they may consult the checklist given to them earlier in the
training
