Physical Science A Course Syllabus
Course Description:

Physical Science A encourages students to look at the world through the eyes of a scientist. Students
will be able to communicate using lab reports that include the scientific methods, use appropriate
tools to investigate their inquiry, and understand the impact that chemistry has on the world. This
course includes fundamental knowledge from chemistry, physics, and earth science.

Students arrive on time


Students Complete all labs, performance tasks and homework
Students bring all materials to class (unit, notebook, pencil, book, etc)
Students collaborate with peers
Students communicate absences and any other needs
Cell phones kept put away and turned off

Course requirements
Attendance

Arrive to class on time. Anyone late to class (15 minutes) will be admitted to class, but it will
be counted as an absence.
Attendance at each session is mandatory. This class follows the same policy as the other SGI
Classes here at OFL Bellflower
1 absence = phone call home
2 absences= meeting with General Education teacher
3 absences= dropped from class with no credit earned, possible withdraw from OFL
(discretion
of General Education teacher)

**I will be setting up a Remind.com course for Physical Science. This will allow you to text me if you
are going to be tardy or absent. You are still required to complete the homework assignments on
time even if you are absent.
Homework

Every Unit has a test day. Students must have the unit completed in order to test.
If the unit is not completed, the student may not test in class and will be given
additional assignments to complete.
