15 to 20 minutes.

from the book.

(E.g.: (1) What does recycling means to
you?
(2) Why is it important?
(3) What are the materials that can
be recycled?
(4) Where do you throw your
recycled materials?
(5) Have you seen a recycling sign
and if yes, where have you seen it?
5. Introduce children to the various
recycling signs, recycling bins and
what are the materials that they could
recycle (refer to appendix 1) as well
as introducing children to the various

their poster to explain and describe

more it.
Evaluation:

1. What were the actual outcomes?

Children were able to draw the poster and develop awareness about recycling.
2. Were the lesson objectives achieved?
I think the lesson objectives were partly achieved because the children were able to develop
awareness about the importance of recycling but they might not know that the poster is to
remind their friends about the importance of recycling.
3. Recommended changes, if required?
Instead of asking the children to only draw and color the poster, decorating the poster by
using recycled materials like newspapers and colored papers would help to further enhance
the childrens understanding of recycling.
4. What would be the follow-up plans/extensions/reinforcements?
One of the follow-up plans that could be implemented in this lesson plan is to ask the
children to personally collect and bring their recycled materials to school. Then, the children
and the teacher could make a trip to the nearest recycling bins. Children will also be taught to
sort the materials accordingly. Another follow-up plans is to show children more pictures or
videos related to recycling. For example, the teacher could show videos on the process of
recycling to the children.
5. Strengths about lesson conducted/ process of conducting the lesson.
(a) I was able to make the children to give proper response as according to the given
questions.
(b) Children developed awareness about the importance of recycling through their given
responses during the lesson.
6. Weaknesses about the lesson conducted/ process of conducting the lesson.
(a) While reading the storybook, I think that my intonation could be better.

(b) While asking the children questions, I could speak to them with better proper English
so as to be a role model for the children to speak proper English.
(c) I could have further explained about the reason why they had to make a poster by
telling them that it is to remind children of the importance of recycling.
(d) While the children were doing their work, some of them complained of the lack of
black markers that could still be used. To prevent this problem, I could have prepared
enough writing and coloring materials beforehand for the children to use.
