Atelectasis

Atelectasis in the lung becomes airless.

This is due to obstruction of the main bronchus
You can convert a mucus plug , foreign body tumor.
Behind the blockage of the air is absorted , the alveoli collapse, the lung tissue fluid
filled, infected.
Acute form of post-operative complication or anesthetic effect ,abdominal pain.
Chronic form of atelectasis:
1. Middle lobe syndrome
2. Rounded atelectasis is caused by asbestosis disease.
Symptoms : cyanosis, shortness of breath, schock, palpitation, fever.
The diagnosis the doctor sets up the X-rays during a physical exam.
The chest is dearly visible i the footage evacuated areas.
Computed tomography shows the causes of the disease.
Prevention oppertunities : before stopping smoking surgical 6-8 weeks.
Postoperative to breathe deeply , need to cough get up out of bed to move.
Therapy of acute atelectasis : Clearing obstruction bronchoscopy. Taking antibiotics.
Treatment of chronic atelectasis: taking antibiotics. Incase of surgical tumor surgery ,
chemotherapy radiation may be given.
