It is a precondition of accepting an ADS award that

scholarshipholdersreturntotheirhomecountrytotake
up a position that utilises their study for a minimum
periodoftwoyears.

PreparatoryTraining____________________

Foundation Awards are offered as part of the ADS.

These awards are designed to operate in conjunction
with the broader assistance offered to all candidates
(e.g. course advice, IELTS testing, predeparture
briefings, etc.). This allows for greater incountry
assistancetobeprovidedtorelevantcandidatesonan
efficiently targeted basis. 10 Foundation Awards were
deliveredin2010.

The Foundation Awards are primarily intended to

provide modest levels of additional assistance to
selected candidates to apply for ADS awards. The
provisionofthisadditionalassistanceislimitedtothat
required to meet one or more of the following three
purposes:

categoriesofcandidatesaremet
Ensuringequityinawarddelivery
Ensuring targeted and thereby efficient
applicationofresources
