PROCEDURE
INSTALLATION

Step 1: Connect one end of the interfacing cable to the scanner and the other
end to USB port available in the rear side of the CPU.
Step 2: Give the power supply from the AC main.
CONFIGURING

In Windows 95/98 or later the system will automatically detect


the new hardware and it will try to locate the device driver.
If not detected automatically, go to Control Panel and choose
Scanners and Cameras. In the left side of the window choose Add an
imaging device. The Scanner and Camera Installation Wizard will
be opened. Insert the Driver CD from the manufacturer and follow the
instructions given in the screen and install the driver software.
INSTALLING THE SCANNING SOFTWARE

Install the Photo & Imaging software from the CD.

SCANNING AN IMAGE

1. Press the scan button in the scanner or run HP Director


software, which comes with photo & imaging software.
2. Preview of the image will be displayed. Click accept button
to store the image.
TROUBLE SHOOTING THE SCANNER
Problem Scanner fails to scan
Solution

Check whether the data cable and power cable are connected properly.

Disconnect all other devices connected to the system. The computer may not
have the ability to handle more than one external device. After disconnecting
all the devices, try scanning. If not try re-installing device driver software from
the manufacturer CD.

Problem Scanned Image is distorted


Solution
Clean the scanner glass over which the scanning item is placed and scan
again.
Make sure that the item being scanned is lying flat over the scanner glass.
Problem Can not be able to scan multiple images
Solution

Position each image at least an inch apart from adjacent images.

Make sure that the application software supports scanning multiple images.

RESULT

Thus a scanner is installed and configured.

WebCam Installation

PROCEDURE
INSTALLATION
Step 1: Insert the Installation CD into the Drive. The CD will start automatically.
Step 2: Follow the instructions on the screen.
Step 3: When prompted, connect the Webcam to the USB port. The OS will
automatically detect the device. Place the Webcam on top of your monitor
and use the hinged lever to mount the camera.
Step 4: Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
Step 5: You may be asked, after the drivers have been successfully installed, to
restart the system.
Step 6: Restart the system after all applications have been installed.
Using the Creative Webcam
Taking a Photo/Video
1. Click Start -> All Programs -> Creative -> Creative Live! Cam -> Creative
live! Cam Center.
2. In the Creative Live! Cam Center window, click the Photo Capture tab to
take photo.

3. Click Video Recording tab to record video.


RESULT

Thus a webcam is installed and configured.

Cell Phone Installation

PROCEDURE

PC Suite is a software package used to establish an interface between


mobile devices and computers that run Microsoft Windows operating system.
1. Download the appropriate PC Suite software and install it according to
the instructions.
2. Insert the software disc for your phone into your CD/DVD drive.
3. Run the PC Suite installation.
4. Accept the licence agreement and select your destination drive.
5. Let the installation continue
6. After installation, the "Get Connected" Wizard will appear.
7. Click on the right arrow button to continue.
8. You will now need to select the Connection type. This depends on
whether you are using a USB data cable or not. To connect by
Bluetooth, select "Bluetooth Connection". Turn Bluetooth on, then click
on the right arrow button on your phone to continue.
9. PC Suite will now search for your phone
10. Select your phone if it is detected
11. Click on Next to connect
12. Now you can browse your phone, add music, make a back-up of your
phone and manage your contacts and messages

13. PC Suite also allows you to send text and multimedia messages
directly from your computer. You can also connect to the internet, using
your mobile phone as a modem.
RESULT
Thus a Cell Phone is installed and configured.

Bio Metric Device Installation

To Install and configure a Bio metric Finger Print Reader
HARDWARE REQUIRED
Finger Print Reader
PROCEDURE
1. Plug the fingerprint reader into the selected free port in your computer. Many
fingerprint readers connect through the USB port. Windows will automatically
detect and install the drivers for your fingerprint reader.
2. Place the fingerprint reader in an easily accessible area.
3. Click "Start," "Control Panel" and then "Biometric Devices." The Biometric
Devices window will open.
4. Click "Use your fingerprint with Windows." A Windows security dialog window
will open. Type your current user password into the open field and then click
"OK." The fingerprint reader window will open and display two open hands in
the window.
5. Click on a finger to start the set-up process. For example, click the left index
finger to create a profile using that finger. The "Swipe your finger" page will
open. Swipe the selected finger three times over the fingerprint reader when
prompted. When the swipes are successful, click the "Finish" button. The next
screen will show the finger that was set up in green, confirming it is activated.
RESULT
Thus a Bio metric Finger Print Reader is installed and configured.
