The Armenia Earthquake

JANUARY 25TH, 1999

A terremoto, or earthquake strikes. It was registered as a 6.4 on the richter scale. In Armenia, Colombia, several parts
of the city, including key infrastructure along with several residential neighborhoods, fell down. There is widespread
panic. And, later the death count begins to soar. 2,000 people lost their lives in the aftermath of this quake. This
motivated the Colombian government to replace neighborhoods with a stronger earthquake-resistent, alternative:
Guadua Bamboo.

A good watchdog can ensure safety and security of the
property. In Colombia, this is a must.
Ensure you have a good privacy fence around the property
to prevent theft and outside observation.
Know your neighbors. Ask about local issues before
buying.
Avoid buying lots which are too large and difficult to
secure. Consider a condominium with on-site security.
