Interest Inventory

The purpose of the reading interest inventory is to gather the reading interests of
my Pre-K class. A T chart will be used with students names under the appropriate
column of their interest: fictional books v/s nonfictional books. Students will draw
their magnetic lamented names from the names basket when called on.

In addition, students will use tally marks to represent their interests beneath their
names. This will be done as a large group activity.

I Love Fictional Books
I love Nonfictional Books

Tally marks will be done at the end to help students understand how many of them
like fictional books and how many like nonfictional books.

Students already know the difference between a fictional (pretend) and a

nonfictional (real) book.
