Cycles:

Glycolysis- happens in the cytoplasm and is broken down into a simpler form (pyruvate). Doesn't need oxygen
Input- Glucose C6H12O6
Krebs Cycle- oxygen enters the matrix, getting electrons for last step
Input- oxygen
Output- CO2
Electron transport chain- chain of proteins transporting electrons, ATP synthase at the end, makes the most ATP, electrons bounce off
proteins to push H, in the intermembrane
Output- water, ATP
When you don't have oxygen you repeat glycolysis then goes to fermentation and starts forming lactic acid in humans, in yeast it forms ethyl
alcohol.
ex.) when you are exercising strenuously
ex.) how alcohol is formed
ATP- is the energy source our body uses
ADP- one less phosphate and wants to eventually form ATP
