Describing my village
I live in Fayes. Fayes is a neighborhood of a village, (parish)
called Valdesoto. Valdesoto belong to the municipality of Siero
which is situated in the centre of Asturias and it has a
population of about 50000 people. Asturias is a province of
Spain. Asturias is situated in the North of Spain.
Valdesoto is a beautiful village (Parish) and its great for
walking around. In Valdesoto we still can hear the chirping of
birds and see green fields. At the night, the whole village is
very quiet and you will not be able to hear sounds.
People are very friendly in Valdesoto. I know and talk to
everybody. In Valdesoto, people look after each other.
The weather in Siero is worse than in the coast of Asturias.
The winter can be very wet and cold . In January and February
usually freezes in the morning with temperatures near 0
degrees.
In summer the weather is very hot. I usually put a little
swimming pool in the garden and my sons having a bath and
playing with the water.
Valdesoto is famous for its celebrations. The most important
celebration is the float`s festival. People make sculptures or
wood carvings on the boxes of trucks or tractors and
represent funny plays. They starting to make the wood carving
in February and working for four months until June.
