Preface

The present file provides an introduction to Creativity And Innovation , and important issues and
reforms in area of Creativity And Innovation.
Creativity has been a major driving force of societies throughout history and in the era of
globalization, it has been linked to the international competiveness of business with its twin
Innovation. If an economy wants sustainable economic development it can only do this by
creating innovating new products, processes and services.
Here is the enigma, creativity and innovation comes very high on business agenda and in a recent
survey, 56% of companies said that the single most important source of idea for Innovation is
from within the company. But the efforts put in to nurture staff creativity is not enough.
An attempt has been made to present the subject matter in a concise, simplified and lucid manner
so that the reader is able to understand the concept in a systematic manner. Efforts have been to
make the subject matter readily understandable to the reader.
The file has been written keeping in mind the syllabus of examination conducted by Punjabi
university, Patiala for the course MLD Semester - 2. It is secure that it shall serve the purpose for
which it is meant.
