1. The MSE plot is given Figure 1.


2. From MSE plot opt can be seen to be 103.73 = 0.1861 ms (which
can be seen to lie in the above range). The peak-detector output
corresponding to the RC time constant equal to opt is given in Figure
2. As can be seen, for this optimal time-constant, the envelope detector
neither lags the message, nor tracks the carrier.
Further, from the result in Problem 2.b of Assignement 3, we have RC
