The teacher will inform the students that they will be using a compass rose to give directions. The teacher will challenge the students to remember something interesting from the video about a compass rose. After watching the video together as a class, the teacher will create a list of the interesting facts from the students. Then the teacher will place a chair at the center of the rug area and ask each student to stand north, south, east or west of the chair. This activity will end after everyone has had a turn. Once we have completed the activity, the class will be broken up into groups of 4. Each group will have to give directions to specific area in the classroom from the front door. Students will review the video if needed to help them make a map to that specific area. Using a podcast, each group will present their maps and the podcast will be uploaded to the classroom website for others to see.
