RE: Filter Board replacement

Dear Sir/Madam:

Eaton Corporations records indicate that you received an Eaton manufactured 93E 80kVA
to 400kVA 400V UPS that was manufactured before January 25, 2014 which may have a
defective capacitor in the filter board. This defect can cause the unit to fail, particularly when
exposed to high input impedance while on on-line mode, and in rare instances can lead to
load drop or even thermal damage.

Units with this possible defective component include serial numbers below 4H045XXXXX
where 4H=2014 and 04 = week number. The serial number for the unit can be found on the
nameplate. While the 93E has a long track record of high quality and performance and there
have only been a very small number of issues reported, Eaton takes quality and safety very
seriously and therefore, the recent reports require Eaton to take immediate actions to ensure
we live up to our reputation of delivering the best products and services in the market.

If you have 93E units that have been installed and commissioned, Eaton requests that you
immediately schedule an appointment for Eaton to inspect your installed 93E unit(s) to verify
the operation of the unit and the component in question. Please call our Customer Response
Center to schedule a service call at (02) 687-6923.

If you have units that have not yet been commissioned, an Eaton Service Engineer must
perform the commissioning and inspection before your unit is energized. Eaton will perform
this service at no additional charge to you. This will allow us to inspect the quality of the
component and the operation of the 93E. Please immediately call (02) 687-6923 to schedule
your commissioning and inspection.

Be assured that Eaton is working closely with the supplier of the component, as well as our
engineering, services and manufacturing teams to develop systems and measures to
prevent and capture these types of issues in the future. We expect this will allow us to
continue the levels of quality you have come to expect from Eaton and the 93E.

If you are not the end customer for this product and you have subsequently shipped this
product to a 3rd party, please forward this notice to the end customer/third party.
