can first, second and third place be awarded?

7. In the NBA finals, the first team to win four games wins the championship. Suppose the
Lakers win the first 2 games. In how many ways can the series be completed. Hint: draw a
tree.

8. In another state, all license plates consist of 6 symbols chosen from the 26 letters of the
alphabet and the digits 0-9. How many license plates are possible if there must be exactly 3
letters and 3 numbers with no repititions (letters followed by numbers)?

9. A pair of fair dice are rolled. Find the probability of rolling a sum that is a multiple of 3 or a
multiple of 4.

10. At Apathy U, the three most popular majors are study hall, finger painting, and dot-to-dot. Of
the 1000 students attending the university, 297 were majoring in study hall, 285 were majoring
in finger painting, 312 were majoring in dot-to-dot, 106 were majoring in both study hall and
finger painting, 93 were majoring in both study hall and dot-to-dot, 127 were majoring in both
finger painting and dot-to-dot, and 41 were majoring in all three. How many students weren't
majoring in any of the three?
