#technionconnectedworld
In less than ten years, the world as we know it today has completely been transformed. It entered
a new cycle of its economic history as decisive as the first industrial revolution. This phenomenon
is rising, everyday, and now, it is the whole world which is connected within a network without limits
where converge social networks, mobile devices and the cloud. It will not be less than 50 billion
devices connected in 2020.
The biggest companies have understood these issues. They also participate in the digitalization of
their activities and their data. The Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, which has become a
world benchmark in the areas of science and technology, has enabled the realization of many
successes in all areas of excellence related to smart technologies. A research consortium headed
by Professor Hossam Haick of the Technion is developing a new product called Sniffphone that,
when coupled with a smartphone, will be able to screen the users breath for an early non invasive
detection of life-threatening diseases.
Technion France has fully understood the Connected Issues representing our community in all
social, religious, intellectual, artistic, scientific and technical fields. The next Technion France
Annual Event will be the 14th Annual Scientific Symposium, #TechnionConnectedWorld, Towards
Connected Intelligence.
It will be held on December 5, 2016 in the Maison de la Chimie and will bring together, as usual, a
prestigious delegation composed of researchers from the Technion in Haifa, big French companies
CEOs, company founders, researchers and opinion leaders. With the audience, they will share
their experience and vision in this theme which has become a real challenge for today and
tomorrow society. The symposium will take place around three round tables which are Healthcare,
Smart City and Renewable Energy, Security and Artificial Intelligence. The first session will
demonstrate the topic of Connected Health and Beauty with the aim to present the latest
innovations in medical devices, products and services dedicated to the health and well-being to
simplify the course and support for patient and optimize the effectiveness of health professionals.
Following of the COP 21 which took place in Paris at the end of 2015, the second session will
expose the future of Renewable Energy, a field where the Technion is also working on, and Smart
Cities, which now allow any individual to have access to all data anywhere in the world through an
Internet connection. To conclude, the third session will explain all the facets of the Connected
Man present in sectors as Security, Artificial Intelligence, Biometrics and Robotics with the
measures that a connected way of life is a new ways of functioning for companies and people.
Following the third session, a big Smart & Connected Innovation Lab gathering the Technion T-
Factor Accelerator, as well as Start-Up, Accelerators, SME, leading companies and French clusters
of excellence and innovation will finalize this Scientific Day. The Symposium will be ended the 6th
of December in the Maison de la Chimie by the Paris Sciences & Lettres (PSL) Symphonic
Orchestra and Choir, Academic Partner of the Technion. A cocktail reception will follow the Show in
the Hall of Honour.
