COMMUNITY DATA ASSESSMENT

Whereas we have identified numerous problems in the community with our

thorough observations, perceptive listening sessions and intensive interviews,
reinforced by our use of the assessment tools aimed at finding a particular problem
prevalent in a certain area, we decided to rate our problems in order of priority.

In clusters 1,2 and 3 the foremost problem we encountered was the risk of getting
bitten by a rabid animal and be infected with rabies. It was clearly seen that in all
clusters, many dogs and cats were not restrained and were made to roam around
the neighborhood freely, especially in areas where the locals gather and the
children play. It was also known that most of the animals and the community folks, if
not all were in fact, not vaccinated. From those information that we have acquired,
we arrived at the conclusion that the community would benefit most about the
concept of responsible ownership.
